Car Accidents

We represent victims of motor vehicle accidents in all aspects of their case.  We immediately contact all insurance companies involved to determine the full extent of insurance coverage available to you and your family and to ensure that your medical expenses and damages are paid.  We will contact your doctors and hospitals to make sure they submit their bills to the correct insurance company.  If you have missed time from work, we will help you collect your lost income.  After you have finished your medical treatment, we will seek a fair settlement for your damages, including damages for pain and suffering from permanent injuries and scarring.

Truck Accidents

Many of our clients have been injured as a result of an accident involving a large truck or tractor-trailer.  When a large truck collides with an ordinary passenger car, the sheer size and weight of these trucks frequently result in severe, catastrophic injuries or death to the occupants of the car.  We have vast experience representing victims and their families and seeking justice from the trucking companies responsible for these tragic crashes.  We work with engineers and accident reconstruction experts to secure the electronic data from the “black box” and gather the evidence to prove the truck driver’s negligence.

Motorcycle Accidents

It is a common misconception that motorcycle riders are reckless and cause collisions.  In fact, in the majority of traffic crashes involving a motorcycle, the motorcycle rider is not at fault and the driver of the motor vehicle “never saw” the motorcycle.  Unfortunately, even though the operator of the motorcycle is not at fault, their injuries are usually severe, if not fatal.  We have the knowledge, skill, and experience to represent victims of motorcycle accidents and their families in seeking compensation for their damages from the driver whose negligence caused the crash.

Motorcycle crashes involve many unique insurance issues.  Many motorcyclists do not realize that even though they have bought insurance coverage for their motorcycle, medical bills and lost income coverage are usually not covered by the insurance policy unless the motorcycle owner specifically requested and paid an additional insurance premium for medical and wage benefits.  Motorcycles are also excluded from Personal Injury Protection (PIP) coverage, which is required for all other motor vehicles in Florida and provides medical and wage loss coverage.  We frequently represent victims of motorcycle accidents who were unaware they had no medical coverage at all until after the crash.  Due to the severity of injuries that many motorcycle riders suffer, the cost of the victim’s medical treatment is frequently higher than the amount of insurance coverage available from the at-fault driver.  It is crucial for motorcycle owners in Florida to buy medical insurance coverage for their motorcycles and not to assume that this coverage is automatically included when they insure the bike.

Dog Bites/Animal Attacks

Our firm has represented hundreds of victims of dog bites or attacks.  Unfortunately, the victims in these cases are usually children.  The dog attacks we investigate are almost always unexpected and unprovoked, and in most cases the victim had no warning the dog was about to bite.  The injuries caused by dog attacks frequently cause permanent scarring and disfigurement as well as emotional and psychological trauma.  Frequently, victims of dog bites require plastic or reconstructive surgery to repair the injuries.  We will thoroughly investigate the dog’s history of prior attacks and seek compensation for your damages from the dog owner and his or her homeowner’s insurance company.

Florida law holds dog owners strictly liable for the victim’s injuries and damages, even if the dog had never bitten anyone previously and had never acted aggressively before.  Florida law also gives victims of severe dog bite injuries the right to demand that the dog be classified as a “dangerous dog,” which means that if the dog ever bites another person, the dog will be destroyed and the dog owner can be charged with a crime.  Many counties, including Okaloosa, also have leash laws that impose additional penalties and legal consequences on negligent dog owners.

In addition to representing victims of dog bites and their families, our firm has also represented many victims who were attacked and injured by other animals, such as horses.

Premises Liability/Slip and Fall

Our firm also represents victims who are injured as a result of dangerous conditions in stores, businesses, and on public and private property.  We have successfully handled many types of premises liability cases, such as victims who fall due to spilled liquid or objects on floors or uneven floor surfaces, store customers who are struck by merchandise falling from shelves, people who fall due to faulty or poorly maintained stairs and sidewalks, victims who trip over objects or obstructions on the floor, children who are injured on trampolines, and numerous other cases involving a dangerous condition on property. 

Toxic Torts

Toxic tort litigation is one of the most difficult and expensive cases to litigate and involves companies in various industries across America and internationally.  Toxic or chemical poisoning can result from either short-term or long-term exposure to toxic and environmental hazards, which may be life-threatening and can cause permanent disability and disease.  Some examples of chemical and toxic poisoning involve the following: toxic mold, organo-phosphates, pesticides, herbicides, pollution from chemical plants, run-off from industry and manufacturing, land fill contamination, mining, tobacco, Agent Orange, welding, lead, paint, asbestos and other environmental contaminations.
